==Introduction==
The purpose of this document is to provide developers a quick reference of pin aliases used in the mbed SDK and the Bambino line of microcontrollers. The Microsoft Excel file named "mbed_pin_aliases.xlsx" lists most of the pin alias names and their connector locations on the Bambino 210E, 210, 200E, and 200.  The file can be downloaded from the Development Tools section in the [[Bambino_Documentation#Development_Tools|Software Updates section of the Bambino Wiki]].

==Grouping by Pin Aliases==
In the mbed SDK some pins have several different aliases. Using aliases for pins can make code portable between two different platforms and can help self document the code. The pin aliases are grouped into categories in the excel spreadsheet and they are mbed, Arduino, Alias 1, Alias 2, Alias 3, and Analog Aliases.

To make it easier to view the different categories the column can be placed in alphabetical order. This makes it easier to find an alias and what connector it is located on. For example: p15 in the mbed category is located on connector J8 pin 1 on the Bambino 210 and is on socket 4 pin 3 for the Bambino 200. To do this in the excel file follow these steps:
*1. Click the down arrow next to the Pin Aliases 
*2. Select "Sort A to Z"

==Grouping by Location on Connector==
The Bambino line of microcontrollers have several different model numbers. To make it easier to view what aliases are available on each model of Bambinos connectors follow these steps in the excel file:
*1. Click the down arrow next to the model number 
*2. Select "Sort A to Z"

Some of the pins are not available (n/a) or the connector is not populated (n/p) on some Bambino models. To hide the n/a and n/p pins follow these steps in the excel file:
*1. Click the down arrow next to the model number 
*2. Uncheck "n/a"
*3 Uncheck "n/p"
*4 Click "OK"
